NCO Group, Inc. Named to "Training Top 125"
HORSHAM, PA, 02/23/2009
- NCO Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Corporate Training and Development team, NCO University (NCOU), has been named to the Training Top 125, a prestigious annual ranking of organizations worldwide that excel at human capital development, as determined by “Training” magazine. NCO was one of 28 newcomers to this year’s list.
NCO’s Vice President of Corporate Training and Development Douglas R. Whitcomb and Director of Training Kevin Cline accepted the Top 125 Award at an awards dinner held February 9, 2009, during the Training 2009 Conference and Expo in Atlanta.
NCO joins the ranks of elite companies, non-profit and governmental organizations honored for their innovative programming. Thousands of companies and organizations worldwide compete for the awards, including many Fortune 1000 and Fortune 500 firms. PricewaterhouseCoopers placed No. 1 for the second consecutive year.
“Training” magazine’s February 2009 issue includes the final rankings and feature stories on the Top 5 companies, plus Best Practices and Outstanding Initiatives award winners. The magazine can be viewed online at http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/nielsen/training0209/#/2. “Training” magazine focuses on training best practices, benchmarking, and standards for a global audience.
Data provided in the Top 125 applications is scored and evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively by “Training” magazine and an outside research firm. Each organization’s ranking is based on factors that include financial commitment, training programs offered, metrics measured, and methods of evaluation. Other factors include the use of workplace surveys, and HR data such as turnover and new-employee referrals.
“This is truly a tremendous accomplishment and an incredible testament to NCO’s support for training, the direction from our executive leadership team, the teamwork within NCO, and to the dedication and hard work of our training team,” commented Whitcomb. “I can’t say enough about our team’s commitment to success and employee development.”
“NCO University’s training and development programs provide a competitive advantage to our clients by helping attract, retain, and develop high-quality associates and leaders to provide our clients with superior business process outsourcing services,” Whitcomb said.
This was the first time NCOU had applied for this award, which involved completing a comprehensive questionnaire documenting NCO’s training organization, programs, and results.
NCO’s training expertise now can also be leveraged by clients. NCO University offers a full range of services provided by certified, experienced, and award-winning trainers. Service offerings include leadership development consulting and training, classroom training services, “train-the-trainer” services, communication training, online training platform set-up and deployment, survey set-up, and scoring and segmentation set-up.
